Agatha has always been the most adorable kitten. When we got her we noticed a slight wobble. As she got older this wobble has been getting worse.
A few weeks ago she started having seizures and had to spend a few nights in the vets. They thankfully was able to control them with some anti seizure medication and she was back home with us.
She is now 3 months old. Yesterday (6th july) she was unable to use her back legs properly. Either being to high or dragging herself across the floor. After a visit to the vet I was told she needs an MRI scan urgently to find out the cause so she was referred.
The place she was referred to contacted me yesterday and said that because of the cost, between 3000-4000, they would need pre authorisation from my insurance. I contacted them and they more or less said it would be approved by the time I got to the MRI place. I set off which took me 1 hr with Agatha in some distress, had the consultation with the vet team and she was admitted. I then had to wait the outcome of the insurance who refused the claim. Because they classed it as a pre existing condition i was left scrambling to pay the 50% (£2000) ringing friends and loved ones and anyone i could think of.
When I go and pick her back up I have to pay the remaining balance. Also the previous visit and stay at the vets will not be covered. I thought I’d done the right thing with getting her insured and making sure if anything happened we would be able to help.
Please help me and Agatha x
