Onyx was given to me by one of my bestfriends when he was just 6 weeks old. I always liked the idea of naming animals after gemstones and things found in nature. I knew from the moment I met him 9 years ago he was my baby. I have never loved another animal so much as I do Onyx. We’ve been through a lot and he’s been by my side through so many things in life. I’ve relocated a few times and have always found a way to hold onto him during those processes. Onyx is probably one of the sweetest, loveable, and socially active cats you will probably ever meet. No matter who you are he will walk right up and introduce himself. He has a younger male sibling that I introduced into the home little over 2 years ago. His name is Topaz, and they get along great with each other. Always playing and getting into mischief and really enjoy each others company. Onyx is special in so many ways. The first thing I noticed about him is he is an extremely talkative cat. He has full conversations with me. He can fetch and takes direction extremely well. Where we lived prior to two years ago he used to enjoy going outside on his leash and a few times even killed a couple chipmunks to my astonishment from that leash. He also likes to drink his water with his paw, I have video of it and so many other memories together. Onyx was cared for at the Blue Pearl Emergency vet in Arden Hills. I came home last week and noticed some odd behavior from him including vomiting and exposing his private area. I googled and what came up was Urinary Blockage. It turns out he also has Struvite Crystals which are like sand in his bladder. I can’t imagine how painful that must be for him. https://www.facebook.com/donate/486922298978944/
